Tungsten Carbide HVOF Coated Ball Valves grinding and Lapping constraints --- Reg
Dear Friends,
Kindly specify grinding and lapping possibilities and facilities available to carry Tungsten Carbide coating on Ball Valves with HVOF.
Because of high hardness and mechanical bonding of thermal spray coatings requires precision grinding and these Ball Valves requires blue matching with matching component to arrest leakage of fluid when valve is closed.
I request members to share their knowledge to develop this application at our end.

Sreenivas:
What size ball valve are you dealing with? What is the seat material? How think is your Tungsten Carbide coating? Please clarify so we can help.

Friend,
Size of the ball valve is Dia 130mm X 80mm Length
Seat material is Inconel 625 welded alloy steel
Tungsten Carbide coating thickness is 0.2 to 0.3mm

Dear Screenivas,
It is not easy process. I work for company which is specialist for this kind of job. Metal seated ball valves. We can apply tungsten carbide, chromium carbide, stellite or inconnel on ball and seats, then we make grinding and lapping. It is not easy. The good and quality grinding is for long development. Believe me.
If you are interested in this we can make it for you. I can send to you my .
