Solar Arrays and Deployable Structures - Redwire Space

Solar Arrays and Deployable Structures

Innovative, cost-effective, and high-volume production of deployable power systems and structures for today’s most complex and demanding missions.

SPOTLIGHT

iROSA

“These innovative solar arrays will be added to the ISS at an important time as the crews continue to test critical technologies for deep-space exploration and to drive research that is improving life on Earth” – John Mulholland, VP and ISS program manager for Boeing.

Traditional solar array technology can be expensive, heavy, and complex to operate. So when Boeing, NASA’s prime contractor for space station operations, started searching for a solution to update the power generation of the International Space Station (ISS), they turned to Redwire’s compact, modular, and scalable iROSA technology.

First demonstrated on the ISS in , NASA has installed four of six planned iROSAs. Once all six are installed, Redwire’s iROSAs will increase the station’s power generation capability by up to 30%, augmenting total available power from 160 kilowatts to 215 kilowatts, and enabling NASA to conduct more groundbreaking science and research.
