Next, you will want to put one of the oil rails on the bottom side of the expander. The rails are flexible and can be installed by hand, placing one end into the groove and 'spiraling' it around the piston until it sits in the groove. Be sure to pull it far enough away from the piston to not scratch the crown. Repeat this step for the second rail, installed above the expander.

Remove or install?Wrist pin clip installation required a special tool to prevent damage to the piston and clip. It is essentially a tapered sleeve with a matching pin to progressively compress (think funnel) the wrist pin clip into the piston wrist pin bore then set the clip into it's wrist pin clip groove.Removal requires a gradual tapered pin tool (about 8" to 10" long maybe 3mm dia, heat treated and tempered tool steel. A modified long scribe can work) with a small groove ground into the pin tool and a blunt_ish cone end. Work the pin tool under the wrist pin at the groove that is on the side of the piston wrist pin hole. Object is to get the pin tool under the wrist pin clip lifting out from the wrist pin bore groove. Once the clip has been lifted, carefully remove it. There is a LOT of spring force involved here and do not try this without eye and related body parts protection. It is possible that wrist pin clip can fly out like a projectile, do not have any body parts in that clips flight path or really bad stuff can-will happen.Bernice
